Monaco: Opera Gallery “From Impressionism to Pop Art”

After the resounding success of its Picasso exhibition in 2011, the Opera Gallery in Monaco presented From Impressionism to Pop Art this summer. Visitors to this prestigious exhibition, held under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II, were able to retrace the period in art history from the impressionist revolution to the sometimes shocking Pop Art, through 50 paintings by the great masters that were on show.

Between these two movements illustrated notably with paintings by Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir at one end and Andy Warhol at the other, the public discovered works by Fernand Léger and Marc Chagall, Joan Miró with a splendid Untitled, 1960 work, and Fernando Botero.

The Opera Gallery chose to support the Monegasque Mission Enfance association, which is involved with children in difficulty in the world, by donating part of the proceeds from sales generated by the exhibition.
