Jacob & Co., the legendary diamond jewelry and fine watchmaking house, will be holding its second annual exhibition in Monaco, Monte Carlo at the Hôtel de Paris presented, once again by Stardust. The two-week exhibition takes place from July 1st to 16th during the 150-year anniversary celebration of the SBM, of which Jacob & Co. is an official sponsor.
Jacob & Co. CEO Chris Del Gatto said, “We are thrilled to have our exhibition in Monaco at such a special time and we could not be more proud to officially be a part of the Monaco SBM’s 150-year anniversary festivities.” Del Gatto continued, “Our involvement with this momentous event marks an exciting milestone in the history of our brand.”
As part of the itinerary set by the SBM for its by invitation only guest list is a Jacob & Co hosted cocktail party on July 6th where all guests will be invited to the Hôtel de Paris for a private viewing of the magnificent collection of jewels and timepieces.
Among the many stars in Jacob & Co’s universe of rare gems to be featured is the aptly named Riviera Necklace. This stunning item features the largest Fancy Vivid Yellow Rhomboid-shaped Diamond ever certified by the Gemological Institute of America. At over 90 carats, set in platinum, it is the centerpiece of a necklace that has over 62 carats of collection quality white diamonds.
However, most certainly the highlight of the show will be the famed Splendors of Nature-The Star of Monaco, a spectacular, one-of-a-kind necklace, with a total diamond weight of 150 carats. The museum quality piece is to be presented in honor of the 150-year anniversary. It features a 44 carat D flawless emerald cut center that sits below a 10 carat fancy vivid purple pink cushion cut, followed by a 5 carat fancy vivid blue emerald cut and proceeded by a 4 carat fancy vivid yellow emerald cut and an 18 carat D flawless cushion cut.
Although last year saw oligarchs and sheiks admiring 100 carat plus diamonds shoulder to shoulder with celebrities like Diane Kruger and Adrien Brody, this year promises to exceed it in every way.
Del Gatto said, “Our Monte Carlo exhibition is very special because it allows us the opportunity to showcase all facets of our brand. We have been famous for our watches for years, but the fact is, we were a fine jewelry house first and it’s only recently that the world has come to know how special our inventory of rare gems and jewels really is.” Del Gatto continued, “Mr. Philip Nassimi, our Director of Fine Jewelry, does an incredible job of finding the most spectacular gems from all over the world as they come on the market.”
This year, watch lovers will find a completely new product line for both men and women. These new collections were recently launched at BaselWorld in April and received unanimous praise from the industry and press alike. Some of the world’s top watch journalists raved about new models like the ‘Epic SF 24’ and the digital twenty time zone ‘Ghost.’ Collectors of one of-a-kind jeweled watches will find remarkable pieces such as invisibly set Tourbillions that contain fine unheated Burma rubies and sapphires.
On July 4th, an international list of clients and friends of the brand will be invited to a glamorous cocktail party hosted by Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the finest soccer players in the world and a global superstar. Mr. Ronaldo, who just recently became the face of Jacob & Co. men’s watches, had been a fan of the brand for years, and so becoming an ambassador was a natural fit for him. “I’m excited to be representing Jacob & Co. watches globally,” said Ronaldo. “As a collector of watches and jewelry, I have always appreciated the design and quality of Jacob & Co. In fact, I’ve been a customer for years,” he continued.
The exhibition will be by appointment only from 4pm-5pm each day and open to the public each evening from 5pm-11pm from July 1st to 16th. The exceptions are July 4th, which is invite only, and July 6th which is a private cocktail for SBM’s guests from 6pm-8pm, with the exhibition open to the public following the event at 8pm.
About JACOB & CO
Jacob & Co., the luxury timepiece and diamond jewelry house, was founded over 25 years ago in New York City. After years of designing for private clients and building a sterling reputation with leaders in the worlds of entertainment, sports and high finance, the company launched its flagship store in New York City in 2004. Today, the brand has locations globally and is recognized as one of the premier luxury brands in fine watches and high jewelry.
Chris Del Gatto
Chris Del Gatto, Global CEO of Jacob & Co., is a successful entrepreneur and international luxury brand builder. Del Gatto’s passion for the luxury industry started at a young age. A Graduate Gemologist by the time he was 17, he became a diamond cutter in New York’s legendary Diamond District by the time he was 18. Although this started a life long love of fine gems, it was the business side of operations where Del Gatto truly excelled.
At the age of 23 he went on to join and become a partner in MHR Estate & Fine Jewelry, a company that supplied fine estate jewelry to high-end retailers. It was this company that helped Del Gatto gain valuable experience in retail, merchandising, display and customer service.
Del Gatto launched CIRCA in April, 2001, and immediately began to recast the idea of reselling jewelry not only as an acceptable practice, but a luxurious and chic service that afforded clients an elegant solution for items that they no longer wanted or wore. Head-
quartered on Madison Ave in New York, in less than ten years, Del Gatto expanded the company to where it now has locations throughout the United States as well as in Hong Kong and throughout the EU. Still a major stockholder in the firm, Del Gatto resigned as Chairman and CEO in October of 2012.
He joined Jacob & Co. as worldwide CEO in April 2013, and is on a mission to grow the brand into a global luxury house, with unmatched product and service.
Del Gatto cares deeply not only about his industry, but about the arts and philanthropy as well.
